The Birth Story as I remember it!

Monday Ocotber 5th I went to my regular 39 week and 6 day appt. Just one day shy of full term at 3:30 in the afternoon. When Dr. White did the sonogram he noticed that my amniotic fluid was VERY low for the 2nd time in the month. At 38 weeks I had low flluid but was able to bring it back up to a high range of normal so we decided to monitor it at that point.

Anyway, Dr. White said okay you are full term and we have waited to for God's time table and this just tells me that Hudson is ready. He looked at Jeff and I and said lets have this baby tonight. The weirdest thing is that we were so READY to have this baby but then he tells us that he will need to be C-sectioned and in the next couple of hours I cannot describe to you the thoughts and emotions that occured. I was one of those people that really did not want a C-section but when the Doctor tells you that is the safest way to get him here you do whatever you need to do.

We left the Doctors office at 4:15 and were told to be at the hospital by 5:30....What? So after the fastest shower, blow dry, makeup, finish packing job ever we made it at 5:30. We were checked in and I was immediately hooked up to a lot liquid IV's because of my low fluid....but after 3 nurses and 4 blown veins the anesthesiologist finally gets the IV in and working. At the same time the other nurse is monotoring Hudson and cannot find his heartbeat because he kept "running" from the monitor is what she said. Last time I checked there wasnt much room to run in my belly so needless to say I was very stressed out! At about 6:15 I was taken down to the OR where I was to be given my spinal block first....after 11 attempts the 12th attempt hit a nerve in my lower back and literally felt like a jolt of electricity that sent me off the table. The first 11 shots didnt hurt too bad but that 12th one is seriously the most pain I have ever felt in my life. Anyway, eventually Jeff was allowed in and both Doctor White and Dr. Alling got started. Let me just say that it is an awesome feeling to have 2 very strong Christian men cutting on you and helping bring your baby into the world. After their first attempt to get Hudson out they had to get a vacuum out because he kept going back into my pelvis...so maybe he did run from the heart monitor earlier.

I remember feeling very strange tingles but thankfully felt nothing until the Doctor lifted my perfectly screaming baby over the sheet with huge blue eyes that were wide open...at that point I felt more than I ever have in my life....because my heart was overwhelmed with love for the most perfect and beautiful baby boy I have ever seen in my life! God is so so Good! Needless to say Jeff and I were very emotional...okay well I still am because I cry everytime I think about it.

October 5th, 2009 at 7:35 p.m. our life was changed FOREVER!!

Jeff and the nurse took Hudson back to the room as the doctors got me sewn back up and I went straight back to my room and saw that my baby had blonde hair and huge blue eyes. My doctor had been convinced my whole pregnancy that I was going to have a big baby but to my suprise Hudson weighed 7 lbs. 1 ounce and was 20 1/2 inches long. Long and skinny! yah we dont know where that came from either!

That first night was kind of rough and Jeff did an amazing job...especially for someone that has never changed a diaper in his life. I was very sick from the anasthesia and Jeff was having to take care of both Hudson and I and did it well. That first night was definitely baptism into fire but we made it. We stayed 3 nights in the hospital with very little sleep and needless to say I could not wait to get home.

We were released Thursday morning and Hudson so far has been a very easy baby. He sleeps good, eats good and is very mild tempered. We are blessed and overjoyed and understand this side of Heaven just a small taste of what our Creator feels for us....its incredible!

This summary may seem choppy but I just wanted to be able to remember as much as possible.
